At SkillsUSA Arizona Regionals, students demonstrate technical, personal, and workplace skills through hands-on, industry-judged competitions. They gain real-world career exposure, receive feedback from industry professionals, and develop confidence and employability skills, with opportunities to win awards, tools, and scholarships.

KUSD hosted its first Future Freshman Night at Lee Williams High School yesterday evening, bringing in a significant number of students and their families.
Attendees gained insights into the high school registration process, learned about the block schedule, and explored the credits and requirements necessary for graduation. Additionally, they learned about various pathway options available within KUSD that can guide students toward their future careers.

Yesterday, our local 8th graders from Black Mountain School, Kingman Middle School (KMS Bobcats), White Cliffs Middle School, Emmanuel Christian, Valentine, and Hackberry attended the 8th Grade Showcase.

Their collaboration brought culinary and early childhood education students into the kitchen to whip up a meal tailored for a hypothetical child, making this event both exciting and practical!

Just before Winter Break, students and their families at Hualapai Elementary School gathered for an exciting event: Pancakes in their pajamas! 🥞 The turnout was fantastic, with families joining in the fun, enjoying the opportunity to spend quality morning time together! ❤
The Manzanita Elementary Student Council students organized a fundraiser at their school in October known as Pink Day. Students who participated by wearing pink contributed $1, with the total proceeds being donated to the Cancer Care Unit in Kingman. The Cancer Care Unit acknowledged this as one of their more generous donations.

During this event, the students took a tour of their school's kitchen, where Chef Heather explained proper handwashing techniques, safe food temperatures, and the nutritional advantages of healthy eating.
The students were in for a treat when they found out they were making their own personal pepperoni pizzas. 🍕🍕 Thank you to SFE for making this a fun and educational experience for our students! 👏🏻

Last week, Griffith Energy generously donated a 24-foot enclosed trailer to the automotive program for use in Project Karts. The students received this donation with great enthusiasm.

Several KUSD schools, including Black Mountain Schools, Desert Willow Elementary School, Cerbat Elementary School, Hualapai Elementary School and Mount Tipton Elementary School, joyfully celebrated Veterans Day by inviting family members and community participants to their campuses.
Guests were treated to either breakfast, lunch, or refreshments while students performed patriotic songs and honored Veterans who paraded through the school hallways.

KUSD high school students visited Kingman Regional Medical Center for their annual High School Occupations Day. Students heard stories from the ER and learned about various healthcare occupations including pathways in environmental services, information technology, radiology, nursing, childcare, pharmacy, wellness, and more! Thank you to the KRMC staff for welcoming our students and educating them on the amazing career opportunities available at our local hospital!

They were able to tour Mohave College's new Advanced Manufacturing Training Center as well as other businesses in the industrial park.
