🌟Let's get to know more about Ms. Preciosa Ugale, 1st Grade Teacher at Desert Willow Elementary School ❤
◾How long have you been in the education setting? 29 years (20 years in College, 2 years in preschool and 7 years in elementary)
◾What do you enjoy most about working at your school site? I enjoy working with “marigold” teachers and staff who tirelessly dedicate themselves to educating students with passion and creativity. My school site boosts morale: we engage, we motivate, we have a positive and supportive environment, and a strong team connection. I enjoy working with the administration team (Principal and Coaches) who always believe that “ TOGETHER WE CAN”.
◾What is the most rewarding part about your job? Witnessing my students’ breakthrough and growth. When they understand the new concepts and build confidence in mastering the skills. Going an extra mile for my “kiddos” and watching them reach their highest potential. Being named the "Teacher of the Year" at my school, added a meaningful impact and a rewarding part about my job!
◾️What advice would you give to someone just starting their career in the education setting?1. Gain experience- Experience is always the best teacher.
2. Embrace Professional Development- Being active and participating in workshops, trainings, and seminars will keep your skills up to date.
3. Remember your ”why”. Find that purpose and put meaning to it.
◾What are your favorite hobbies? I love cooking, food preparation and decorating.
◾What is your favorite food? Thai foods/Asian foods
◾Do you have any fun hidden talents? I love doing Culinary Arts and I have a "green thumb".
