Need Help?
Check out our Success Programs!

Kingman Unified School District 20 has a comprehensive dropout plan for grades 4-12.  Programs are available for different grades and various needs within the main schools and off-campus sites.

KUSD 20 believes that students want to learn, they want to succeed in school, and they want to graduate. If they believe that they can succeed, they WILL succeed. We offer academic programs that are relevant to their lives, and a positive, supportive atmosphere, so students will commit to attendance and academic progress. If a student needs help at any level, help can be found.

Students in grades 4-6 who need assistance to be successful in school will have a counselor available to them, remedial programs, and on-site management of at-risk students, rather than off-site alternative programs.

Students in grades 7-12 who need an alternative program to be successful to stay in school will have a program available to them which offers small student-teacher ratio, support to stay in school, and assistance in core subjects.

The PALS program offers a "hands on" approach for students behind credits and at risk.

The PASS program offers an environment where nontraditional students can successfully complete their secondary education.

The I-CARE program offers high school students a last chance to stay in school and work on changing their habits for the better.

For students Grades 4 - 5,
FOCUS ON PREVENTION

  • All KUSD elementary schools provide:
  • Access to at-risk counselor trained in crisis intervention
Staff academy to train teachers in functional behavior assessment, behavior intervention plans
Before or after school tutoring available

Integrated Thematic Instruction (ITI) is implemented district-wide, with training and model teaching weeks. The primary purpose of the model is to grow responsible citizens. The ITI model is a brain-compatible instructional model grounded in the biology of effective instructional strategies, and the development of conceptual curriculum.

Regular education students who have been long-term suspended (for the remainder of the year) are referred for 45 days as well, with teachers sending the work. At the end of the 45 day period, these students finish out the remainder of their long-term suspension.
